TWISTA’S TEAM EMERGES VICTORIOUS, WITH THE MVP LEADING THE TEAM TO A GAME-WINNING TRIUMPH

The 10th Annual 2024 ‘Stop The Violence’ Celebrity Basketball Game was unforgettable! The two teams clashed in an epic showdown in Chicago at the Hope Athletic Center in Lawndale.

Twista’s team won a surprising victory against Dex Million’s team on Sunday, June 29th, 2024, with a final score of 97-96. Twista’s team, initially trailing by almost 16 points in the first half, staged a remarkable comeback. The game reached a nail-biting climax in the fourth quarter, with one of the team’s leads (Taco) delivering a crucial assist to another player, seizing the lead and clinching the game.

Twista’s team scored 97 points, with Taco’s impressive 23 points and 8 assists earning him the MVP title. A highlight of the 1st quarter was Cornbread (team Dex) getting dunked on, sparking a friendly competitive uproar among the audience. At halftime, the audience was instrumental in inspiring the players, especially with the surprise appearance of Young Dolph’s mother, Diana Thorton, who highlighted the game’s mission to stop violence in Chicago and worldwide.

Food and merchandise vendors served anything from tacos to chicken tips, shirts, and shoes. The event was a resounding success, serving its purpose by promoting peace and taking action against gun violence in Chicago through the sport. What’s the Word is looking forward to next year’s game!
