According to ABC 7 Chicago news, the loved ones of a woman from Chicago who is missing in the Bahamas are asking for more assistance from the American government. Taylor Casey, aged 41, was last observed on June 19 at a yoga retreat on Paradise Island.
“I received a call from a young lady asking if I had heard from Taylor. As soon as I heard this, I knew something was not right,” recounted Taylor’s mother, Colette Seymore. “She mentioned that Taylor hadn’t been attending the yoga classes.” Casey’s mother journeyed to the retreat last week and described her visit as “extremely distressing.”
She had to plead to speak with the retreat’s students and stated that it seemed like the students “were being instructed on what to say and what not to say.” She mentioned that she did not come across any missing-person posters.
Despite the authorities stating that they have talked to “several individuals” and have used drones, divers, and a canine unit, the mother expressed that the efforts seem minimal. “We might never uncover the truth about what happened to my Taylor without support from the U.S. government.”
The police discovered Casey’s cell phone in the ocean last week. Still, the family mentioned that the authorities are refusing to hand over the phone.”We love Taylor, and Taylor needs to be back home with Taylor’s family,” her mother said. The family said Taylor would never “take off” without telling them.
The police requested people at the yoga retreat for statements regarding Taylor but would not specify whether any were interrogated. The police reportedly refused to inform the family’s team how many statements they had collected and the names of those participants.
According to Ram Soskin, the lead manager of the Sivananda Ashram Yoga Retreat, the Monday before Casey’s disappearance, an unidentified man with a walkie-talkie was seen walking the same platform where Taylor’s tent was located.
One of the retreat’s participants, who the Find Taylor Casey team spoke to, said a stranger approached Casey while sitting alone at the beach the day she was last seen.
The man was wearing a Celtics baseball cap and dressed in all black. He claimed he was from Chicago and was interested in taking a yoga class. According to the website created to help find Taylor Casey, he followed her onto the property.
