A 22-year-old woman passed away following a police report stating that she “lowered” herself into the Chicago River along the Riverwalk on Tuesday afternoon. According to the police, at around 2:30 p.m., she was seated by the river when she descended into the water.
Chicago Fire Department personnel retrieved her from the water, and she was then transported by paramedics to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where she passed away, as per the police. Her identity has not been disclosed, and the investigation is being conducted by Area 3 detectives.
