SHOOTINGS ON CHICAGO’S NEAR WEST SIDE LEAVE MULTIPLE DEAD

A large police presence flooded Chicago’s Near West Side Tuesday after multiple deadly shootings were reported near the University of Illinois Chicago campus.

Police say a victim was found shot to death inside a UI Health parking garage in the Illinois Medical District, prompting UIC officials to issue a safety alert and temporarily restrict access to the area. Authorities later said there was no ongoing threat.

Around the same time, a second shooting occurred outside a White Castle near Roosevelt Road and Western Avenue. According to Fox 32 Chicago, police indicate at least three people were shot, with two victims killed and another transported to Stroger Hospital.

Police have confirmed the incidents are not connected. The investigation remains ongoing, as no one has been arrested.
