Rick Ross is facing legal action after a disabled man filed a lawsuit against him, alleging that a car show hosted by Ross lacked proper accessibility accommodations.
According to TMZ, Darris Straughter, said that he attended Rick Ross’s car show in a wheelchair but was unable to fully enjoy the event due to the lack of adequate provisions for disabled attendees.
Straughter alleges that the event was not compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), which mandates that public events and spaces provide appropriate access for individuals with disabilities.
Excited for the opportunity to attend this event, Straughter sold his car in order for him to have enough money to travel, get a hotel and to purchase the ticket.
Upon arrival, Straughter made sure to contact the venue to let them know that he will need accommodations for his wheelchair. The venue let him know that he will have transportation to and from the event.
When he finally arrived, he waited hours at the lot and which the bus never came. Straughter then became frustrated, gave his ticket away and went back to the hotel.
He’s suing Ross for breach of contract, unjust enrichment, and violation of ADA and is asking for damages and an order forcing the car show to provide disabled access in the future.
