WOMEN CELEBRATE WOMEN’S HISTORY MONTH AT OWN THE ROOM MIXER IN CHICAGO

CHICAGO — Chicago’s women entrepreneurs, professionals, influencers, and community leaders came together for a powerful evening of connection, celebration, and community during the Own the Room: Women’s History Month Mixer, hosted by She Owns It She Biz on March 12 at Press Room Chicago.

The event served as both a celebration of Women’s History Month and a lead-in to the upcoming 5th Annual She Owns It She Biz Conference, which will take place in Chicago on April 10 and 11, 2026. Guests gathered inside the stylish West Loop venue for an evening filled with networking, music, meaningful conversations, and support for women making moves across business, entertainment, and community leadership.

From entrepreneurs and creatives to influencers and professionals, the room reflected exactly what the event promised: a space where women could show up, connect, and pour into one another. The energy stayed high throughout the night thanks to music from DJs Loveday and Patricia CVIII, while attendees enjoyed great service, specialty cocktails, wine, and beer samples from Moors Brewing Company.

“Being part of this event for the third year is an honor because it reflects the power of collaboration and what can happen when people intentionally support one another.”— Jamhall Johnson, CFO and Co-Founder of Moors Brewing Company

Moors Brewing Company returned as a sponsor for the conference for the third consecutive year, continuing a partnership that has become an important part of the conference’s mission. The brand’s support also added another layer of meaning to the night, as the company — owned by three Black men — continues to model what it looks like for men to intentionally champion and uplift women entrepreneurs.

Jamhall Johnson, CFO and Co-Founder of Moors Brewing Company, emphasized the importance of partnerships rooted in purpose and community, noting that continued support for this event is about more than sponsorship — it is about helping create spaces where collaboration, culture, and economic growth can thrive.

The mixer also helped build momentum for the 5th Annual She Owns It She Biz Conference, which marks a major milestone for the platform. What began as a vision to bring women together has now grown into a respected community-centered conference that continues to empower women through conversation, education, visibility, and collaboration.

“What started as a vision to bring women together has grown into a powerful community.”— Christi Love, Creator and Producer of the She Owns It She Biz Conference

According to Christi Love, reaching year five is a special milestone for the conference and a reflection of the support, belief, and community that has helped it grow over the years. She also highlighted the value of partners like Moors Brewing Company, whose ongoing commitment has helped bring the vision to life year after year.

The timing of the mixer made the moment even more impactful. With March recognized nationally as Women’s History Month and April recognized as National Black Women’s History Month, the upcoming conference arrives at an important cultural moment to honor the impact, innovation, and leadership of Black women across industries.

As the women in attendance celebrated one another at Press Room Chicago, the message of the evening was clear: this is about more than one event. It is about building community, strengthening networks, and creating intentional spaces where women can be seen, supported, and celebrated.

With the April conference quickly approaching, the Own the Room mixer set the tone for what is expected to be another meaningful and empowering experience for women across Chicago and beyond.
