On Saturday, September 7th, Chicago’s 1st Lady celebrated her birthday in style, leaving no crumbs behind. This was just the first of three fabulous birthday bashes she has planned for this month. Chella is a beloved and highly influential figure in Chicago’s cultural scene. She has collaborated with renowned Atlanta producers such as Zaytoven, Cassius Jay, and Honorable CNote, among many others.
There was a beautiful photo of Chella sitting on an easel as I walked in. The vibe was intimate, and the scene gave “Boss Lady.” I captured a picture in front of a drop that featured a gallery of her photos. The letters “CHELLA H” illuminated the stage before me while the kitchen served jerk pizza, wings, and other delicious menu items.
Chella stole the spotlight as she made her grand entrance alongside media mogul Angela Yee, with the late rapper FBG Duck’s “Slide” setting the perfect vibe. The evening kicked off with drinks, laughter, dancing, and photo ops. Lip Service’s very own Angela Yee, alongside co-host Gigi Maguire, hosted the event and celebrated the unbreakable bond they share 🤞🏾.
In a thrilling announcement, Chella revealed to the delighted guests and esteemed media that she is the new host of “Lip Service Midwest,” a show currently broadcasted on IHeart Media, Apple Podcasts, Soundcloud, Spotify, and YouTube. This is a huge win for “Da Crib,” representing Chicago. Chicago rappers “Sasha Go Hard” & “Blasian Doll” joined Chella briefly onstage to show their unwavering support.
To cap off the night, “The Baddest Chick” Trina took the stage, performing her iconic hits including “Look Back At It,” “Pull Over,” and her verse on Latto’s “B*tch From Da Souf.” The night culminated with a touching message from Trina to Chella, underscoring their treasured friendship.
