King Von’s mural across the street from O’Block symbolizes not only the birthplace of drill, which boasts a global reach, but the neglect and violence troubling the community.
Von’s mural and O’Block are places that tourists often come to take pictures and look around since to them it’s the most dangerous part of Chicago.
Footage from a CPD Scanner shows 4 men taking pictures in front of Von’s mural with guns. As the officers talk to each other over the scanner you can hear them mention that there were about 3 guns being passed around.
Moments later, you can see the Chicago Police Officers pulling up and arresting the individuals.
At least one man, Jeshon Meyers 20, was charged with aggravated unlawful use of a weapon and three total guns were recovered by police.
