It’s official. Young thug is coming home today but with 15 years probation.
Everyone is excited about Young Thug coming home, but what does him being home look like?
Although he is permitted to return to making music, Judge Whitker said that there are special conditions that apply while he is at home. He cannot be in Atlanta for 10 years, except for funerals, weddings, and special medical emergencies involving immediate family members.
The first 7.5 years of probation require reporting, while the second 7.5 years are non-reporting. He is not to associate with known gang members, except for his biological brother and Gunna, due to their collaboration in music.
Thug has been sentenced to 40 years, with a significant portion suspended. He will serve 15 years on probation, with five years initially counted as time served. If he successfully completes his probation, he avoids further prison time; however, if he violates probation, he will face an additional 20 years in custody.
During each year of probation, he is required to come to metro ATL area to make anti gang presentations at schools four times a year which can include a community benefit concert.
Each year of probation, he is required to perform 100 hours of community service
This has been the longest documented trial in Georgia State history lasting a year.
