CHICAGO WOMAN ADDED TO MCDONALD’S ECOLI CASE

Recently, McDonalds has been facing a lawsuit over suspected ecoli found in their products. As of now, a Chicago woman has been added to this case after reporting she got extremely sick after eating a Quarter Pounder. This specific case has been investigated as one of the first ecoli cases to occur in Chicago.

McDonald’s franchise has claimed that the ecoli outbreak stemmed from their slivered onions and has been removed from all restaurants. On the other hand, the number of ecoli cases has not ceased. As of Wednesday, October 30th, ecoli numbers has risen up to 49 cases and all cases are linked to the Quarter Pounder.

As of now, these ecoli cases have only been confirmed in a total of 13 states. States such as Colorado have 29 reported cases and Montana with 17 reported cases have been the highest numbers on record. Other states such as Michigan, Utah, Oregon, Wyoming, and now Illinois have had newly confirmed cases.

Many lives have been affected by McDonald’s outbreak, leaving many people hospitalized. Two people have been diagnosed with hemolytic uremic syndrome (HUS) which can lead to kidney failure. As of now, there has been one confirmed death linking to the ecoli disease who was diagnosed with HUS.
