Three individuals lost their lives on Wednesday after the driver ignored lowered crossing gates and collided with an oncoming train, as reported by a representative from CSX Transportation. Emergency personnel and Dolton police were dispatched to Park Avenue and East 153rd Street shortly after 12:30 p.m. Witnesses confirmed that the deceased included two women and one man, although their names have not yet been disclosed.
First responders stated that all three occupants of the vehicle were pronounced dead at the scene, while the CSX train crew fortunately did not sustain any injuries. The Illinois State Police and the Harvey Police Department are currently looking into the matter.
