FAMILY DEMANDS ANSWERS AFTER CHILD WAS LEFT ALONE ON DAYCARE BUS

An Arlington Heights family is seeking answers after their 5-year-old girl was left alone on a bus by her daycare on Tuesday.

Caitlynn Gonzalez and Wamui Mwiya, the mother and father of 5-year-old Dior said they want justice and accountability for the staff at KinderCare. according to ABC7 Dior was left on the bus for so long, that she became hypothermic.

Authorities said a teacher at the facility realized that the child was missing, and ultimately found the child asleep on the bus.

The temperature at the time was about 14 degrees.

“It took hours for her to start come to be. Her oxygen was low, heart rate was low,” said Miwiya, “Fifteen, 30 minutes, she could have died.”

Miwiya stated that his daughter is recovering, but she now fears getting back on the bus.
