This past Friday night, Chicago collectively commemorated the 40th anniversary of the infamous Jordan Brand. The celebration was curated by Nina Chanel, an abstract artist from Chicago- who teamed with Juan and Only Events and Ten35 Agency to put the gathering together.
The space was dimly lit with red lighting to honor the Chicago Bulls, as well as the Jordan logo projected onto a brick wall. Two full-service bars were available, as well as a taco food truck- which guests concluded to be a hit.
Event host, Bree Specific, hyped the crowd up as the space filled with people from wall to wall. The audience was vibing to a mixture of Jazz, Soul, R&B, and Hip Hop as DJ CashEra kicked the night off. The festivity was held at a large urban warehouse with plenty of space for the dance floor- where an impressive competition took place.
Artists such as D-Low Simmons and members from Redd’s Angelz went back and forth in a high-energy Footwork Battle as the crowd went crazy. Each dancer honored the brand by wearing a pair of Jordan’s as they competed. During the battle, the crowd erupted as special guest Korporate- a social media entertainer from Chicago- made an appearance to celebrate.
The night ended with guests mingling and gathering on the dance floor as Bree Specific continued to keep the energy going.
