Footage of a police chase hit social media last night.

A Chicago Police Officer was injured when a suspect rammed into them near 83rd Street and Cottage Grove. Following the collision, the suspect led police on a chase down the Dan Ryan and Bishop Ford expressways. The pursuit ended in Calumet City, where the suspect fled on foot.

Afterward, the suspect stole a Volkswagen and initially headed back toward Chicago before reversing direction and traveling south into Indiana. The driver exited at Grant Street in Gary but sped away before reentering I-80/94 and heading back into Illinois. According to Fox 32, authorities deployed stop sticks near Cline Avenue, slowing the vehicle, which then struck a Lake County police patrol car twice during a roadblock attempt.

The 22-year-old suspect was taken to a hospital for evaluation. He is wanted in Cook County and faces multiple felony charges in two states following this incident.
