A real estate agent in has lost her job for leaving a hateful note for a waiter at a Mexican restaurant in Columbus, Ohio.
According to News 18, Stephanie Lovins, who worked with Century 21, sparked outrage when she wrote “I hope Trump deports you” on a receipt at Cazuelas Mexican Cantina, instead of tipping.
After she left, another waiter discovered the receipt with her offensive message, and soon after, a photo of it went viral.
After Lovins, who had been employed for 27 years, started facing widespread backlash, she attempted to deny the accusations and posted online, claiming her credit card had been stolen and someone else had used it to leave the offensive message. Despite her claims, the restaurant manager reviewed security footage and confirmed that Lovins paid the bill and wrote the note herself. This revelation further fueled public outrage, leading to calls for Century 21 to take action.
After confirming Lovins’ identity, Century 21 swiftly terminated her employment. The real estate company issued a strongly worded statement clarifying that it does not tolerate hate within its organization. “Hate has no place within the Century 21 brand,” the company stated. “After investigating the situation and connecting with the respective broker, as all companies affiliated with the Century 21 brand are independently owned and operated, we can confirm that this agent is no longer affiliated with the brand.”
