NYC TARGET BANS TEENS UNDER THE AGE OF 18 TO HELP REDUCE VIOLENCE

A Target store in Brooklyn has prohibited individuals under 18 from shopping without adult supervision, reflecting a growing trend among local businesses to address delinquent behavior.

The Target located in Brooklyn’s Triangle Junction mall on the corner of Flatbush Avenue has recently started posting security guards at its front doors and carding anyone who appears underage, according to a store worker.

The decision follows complaints from shoppers about chaotic and disruptive behavior, including shouting matches and physical fights that often take place when school lets out.

The policy enforces similar restrictions as a nearby McDonald’s, which has recently prohibited individuals under 20 from entering unless accompanied by an adult.
