CHICAGO MAN FOUND DEAD WITH GUNSHOT WOUND INSIDE BURNING BUILDING

A man was found deceased from a gunshot wound inside a house that was on fire in the South Side of the city on Saturday morning, according to Chicago police. Officers responded to the scene after receiving a report of the fire in the 4900 block of South Cornell Avenue in the East Hyde Park neighborhood shortly before 6:30 a.m.

Authorities discovered the 47-year-old man, who was unresponsive and had suffered a gunshot wound to the head. He was later pronounced dead. The fire has been extinguished, but it is still unclear how it started or who fired the weapon. Detectives from Area One are currently investigating the incident, and police have not released any additional details at this time.
