CHICAGO RAPPER “BIGG MEXX” PASSED AWAY YESTERDAY AFTER SHOOTING IN BROAD DAYLIGHT

A 26-year-old man named Shalamon Johnson was found in the 4700 block of South Evans Avenue when three assailants approached and opened fire multiple times. Video footage shows Johnson talking to someone inside a dark silver SUV when the shooters attacked. As he fell out of sight, the assailants continued to fire, even targeting the SUV at times. After entering their vehicle, the gunmen paused to shoot at Johnson one last time while he was on the ground before driving away. He was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

About a mile away, police discovered the dark silver SUV overturned just outside the University of Chicago Medical Center. One person from that scene was hospitalized.

Footage of the shooting captured a woman fleeing from a residence immediately after the shooting. Residents reported that the woman was the victim’s pregnant girlfriend, who ran forward as children watched from a nearby window. As of Saturday night, no arrests had been made, and detectives from Area 1 were investigating the case.

Shalamon was a rapper from Chicago who went by the name “Big Mexx.” Our love and prayers go out to his family and friends.
