CHICAGO HIGH SCHOOL SENIOR SHOT AND KILLED WEEKS BEFORE GRADUATION

A senior Chicago high school student was shot and killed in a shooting just weeks before he was set to graduate last night.

Treyvon Winfield, a 19-year-old soon-to-be graduate of Morgan Park High School, was by his car just after 8 p.m. Tuesday in the 1000 block of West 115th Street when an unknown male offender walked up to him and fired, hitting Winfield multiple times, according to WGN News.

Police say officers arriving to a call of a person shot found Winfield with multiple gunshot wounds. He was rushed to Roseland Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Winfield’s mother and father brother described him as a good son who was ready to graduate and start his life off like the other seniors at the school.
