KENDRICK NUNN WINS EUROLEAGUE MVP AFTER DOMINANT SEASON WITH PANATHINAIKOS
Kendrick Nunn just made history overseas. The Chicago native and former NBA guard has officially been named the EuroLeague Most Valuable Player for the 2024–25 season, capping off a breakout year with Panathinaikos AKTOR Athens.
According to Eurohoops, Nunn led the league in scoring with 21.1 points per game and broke records with a total of 696 points in the regular season, the most ever in a single EuroLeague campaign. He also averaged 4.3 assists, 3.6 rebounds, and 1.0 steals per game—putting him at the center of Panathinaikos’ success as they finished third in the standings.
The MVP award is decided by a mix of fan votes (25%) and media votes (75%), and Nunn’s consistent dominance left no room for debate. He’s the first Panathinaikos player to win the award since Dimitris Diamantidis in 2011, per AS.
Nunn also took home the Alphonso Ford Top Scorer Trophy, and was selected to the All-EuroLeague First Team, as noted by EuroLeague.net.
For Nunn, this is more than just an award—it’s a redemption arc. After going undrafted in the 2018 NBA Draft, he made a name for himself with the Miami Heat and briefly played with the Lakers before taking his talents to Europe. His decision to bet on himself is now paying off in a big way.
Even Sports Illustrated pointed out how full-circle this moment is for the former Illinois college star, who’s now cementing his legacy on a global stage.
With his contract extended through 2028, Kendrick Nunn’s EuroLeague MVP could be just the start of a new dynasty in Athens. From the West Side of Chicago to the top of European basketball, Nunn’s journey is living proof that real hoopers shine anywhere
