A recent incident at Raleigh-Durham International Airport has thrust Frontier Airlines into the spotlight. A video shared by an X user captures a confrontation between a 45-year-old passenger and Frontier Airlines gate agents. The dispute began when the passenger, arriving 50 minutes before departure, was informed of a $25 fee for late check-in, as Frontier requires check-in at least 60 minutes prior to departure.
As tensions escalated, the passenger expressed frustration, reportedly stating, “I’m never flying this sh-ty airline again.” In response, the gate agents allegedly mocked him, with one saying, “You thought you were gonna get on your flight?” The situation further deteriorated when staff refused to issue his boarding pass and threatened to ban him from future flights. Law enforcement was called to the scene, though no arrests were made.
According to the New York Post, the passenger ultimately purchased a $500 JetBlue ticket to reach his destination but was later reimbursed by Frontier after filing a complaint. Frontier Airlines stated that the employees involved were contracted staff and are no longer associated with the airline.
This incident has sparked widespread criticism of Frontier’s customer service practices, highlighting ongoing concerns about airline fees and staff conduct.
