This week, 300 girls in Chicago gathered for a vibrant “Pink Hat” event celebrating empowerment, unity, and self-expression. Wearing bright pink hats, the girls filled the city with a wave of color and confidence.
The pink hat, long a symbol of solidarity and girl power, took center stage as participants shared stories, joined activities, and built community. “It’s about showing girls they matter and have a voice,” said one organizer.
According to CBS News, the three-day workshop was organized by Polished Pebbles, a mentoring initiative that has been helping girls across the Chicago area for 15 years.
The Polished Pebbles program held the conference in partnership with ComEd, Professional Women in Construction, and Lakeside Alliance — the construction team behind the Obama Presidential Center.
From fun to inspiration, the event left a lasting impact—proving that when girls come together, powerful things happen.
Would you join a pink hat event in your city?
