A Venezuelan man is under investigation after authorities discovered he had enrolled in an Ohio high school while pretending to be a teenager.
According to ABC News, 24-year-old Anthony Emmanuel Labrador Sierra has been charged with, and he is being held on $50,000 bond. The Perrysburg Police Department said it was contacted by the Perrysburg Local Schools on Monday about possible fraudulent activity involving one of its students.
Between Jan. 11, 2024 and May 14, 2025, the school said Labrador Sierra obtained documentation and support, further complicating the situation. For instance, he obtained a state-issued driver’s license, social security number and Temporary Protective Status (TPS) from U.S. Immigrations.
A family who had taken guardianship of Sierra initially found out about his age from a woman claiming to be the mother of his child, who sent them photos and other documentation.
He also claimed that he was a victim of human trafficking, according to the police.
No students were harmed, but concerns have been raised about school safety and documentation practices. The case remains under review by local and federal authorities.
