HIT-AND-RUN CRASH ON CHICAGO’S WEST SIDE LEAVES MAN DEAD & WOMAN INJURED

A tragic hit-and-run incident occurred on Chicago’s West Side on the evening of Tuesday, May 27, 2025. At approximately 8:27 p.m., a black sedan traveling south on Western Avenue ran a red light at the intersection with Jackson Boulevard and collided with a white sedan heading west on Jackson . The impact sent both vehicles into a pole and a fence.

The driver of the white sedan, a 79-year-old man, was transported to Stroger Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. His passenger, a 62-year-old woman, sustained injuries and was also taken to Stroger Hospital; her condition has not been disclosed .

The driver of the black sedan fled the scene on foot, leaving the vehicle behind.

As of now, no arrests have been made, and Major Accident Investigation Unit detectives are actively investigating the case.
