Two-month-old Kayson Flowers tragically lost his life in April 2025 in Chicago’s Roseland neighborhood.
According to CBS News, after returning from a visit with his father, Kayson was found unresponsive and later died at the hospital. Authorities ruled his death a homicide caused by child abuse.
He was pronounced at the hospital on April 26, but his family says doctors told them he had been dead for at least eight hours already.
The heartbreaking loss has brought the community together in mourning and action. Vigils have been held, and a $7,500 reward is being offered for any leads.
“What we’re asking you tonight, whoever saw something, heard something, knows something — how much money do you need?” Pastor Joe Huizenga of Roseland Christian Ministries said at the vigil. “What kind of reward do we need to raise for you to stop protecting somebody who would beat a baby to death?”
