A 30-year-old woman has been charged after allegedly driving into a crowd at an anti-ICE protest in downtown Chicago, injuring a 66-year-old protester.

The incident happened on June 10 near Monroe and Wabash. Protester Heather Blair was hit by a maroon sedan and suffered a broken arm and facial injuries. The driver, Deirdre Kemp, fled the scene with three children in her car, reportedly speeding through downtown before the vehicle broke down in the West Loop.
According to Fox 32 News, Kemp was arrested on June 19 and now faces multiple charges, including aggravated reckless driving, fleeing police, and driving on a suspended license. She remains in custody and is due back in court on June 26.

Despite her injuries, Blair says she plans to continue protesting. City officials are now reviewing safety protocols to better protect demonstrators.
