CHICAGO MAYOR BRANDON JOHNSON SIGNS EXECUTIVE ORDER REMOVING BARRIERS FROM CITY EMPLOYMENT

On July 1st, Chicago celebrated another victory, reinforcing its status as the most pro-worker city in the nation. Mayor Brandon Johnson enacted an executive order that removes barriers to city employment, such as the requirement for a college degree, for positions where relevant work experience suffices. This initiative aims to create more job opportunities for veterans and residents of Chicago who do not hold degrees. The Department of Human Resources will revise all city job listings to eliminate the bachelor’s degree prerequisite. We will keep you updated as this story continues to develop.
