A Glen Ellyn recreational facility was forced to shut down unexpectedly on Saturday evening after hundreds of teenagers descended on the area, causing widespread disruption.
According to the Glen Ellyn Police Department, the disturbance began shortly before 5 p.m. when a crowd of approximately 200 to 300 teens reportedly engaged in multiple violations, including evading entrance fees, smoking marijuana, consuming alcohol, and setting off fireworks—actions that directly violated park policies.
Officers responded to the scene following multiple reports of disorderly conduct. Upon arrival, they encountered a crowd that had exceeded the park’s capacity, with many individuals seen entering without paying, and throwing a manager in the pool as seen in the video below. One teen was arrested on a misdemeanor charge. The escalating situation ultimately led officials to close the facility earlier than scheduled.
