POLICE USE FACIAL RECOGNITION TO IDENTIFY WOMEN CAUGHT TWERKING ON SQUAD CAR

Authorities in Northeast Ohio used facial recognition software to identify a group of women caught on camera dancing on a police vehicle. The incident, which took place in June, was recorded by a Richmond Heights police cruiser’s dashcam and showed several women twerking on the squad car.

According to officers, one woman climbed onto the vehicle’s front push bumper, while another got on the hood and danced, causing visible damage. Investigators worked with the Northeast Ohio Regional Fusion Center and used a tool called Clearview AI—technology that scans social media profiles and other databases to match faces.

So far, Richmond Heights Police have identified two out of the three women involved and issued warrants for their arrest.
