A terrifying home invasion rocked Chicago’s Bronzeville neighborhood early Wednesday morning, when a group of armed intruders kidnapped a 2-year-old girl and stole the family’s vehicle.
According to CBS News Chicago, the incident occurred just before 5 a.m. on July 23 in the 4800 block of South Michigan Avenue. Police say three individuals, including one woman, broke into the home, forcibly removed the child, and fled in a stolen gray Nissan hatchback. Several other personal items were also taken during the incident.
Investigators believe the kidnapping may be linked to a domestic dispute, as one of the suspects is reportedly known to the family. Thankfully, no injuries were reported, but the situation has left residents shaken and on high alert.
The case is being handled by Area One detectives, and the Chicago Police Department is asking anyone with information to come forward.
