A tragic scene unfolded in Chicago’s South Loop Monday morning. Police say a 31-year-old woman was shot and killed just after 9 a.m. on the 2200 block of South State Street.
According to investigators, the victim had been in a physical fight with another woman when the situation escalated. The other woman reportedly pulled out a gun and shot the victim in the face.

The victim was rushed to Stroger Hospital but did not survive. Authorities confirmed the alleged shooter was taken into custody on the scene, and Area Detectives are continuing their investigation.
