MICHIGAN CHURCH IN FLAMES AFTER SHOOTING LEAVES 1 DEAD, AT LEAST 10 SHOT

What should’ve been a normal Sunday service in Grand Blanc, Michigan turned into a nightmare. A shooter drove their car into The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and opened fire, hitting at least 10 people and killing one worshipper on the spot. Two of the victims are still fighting for their lives in critical condition (ABC7 Chicago).

Police say the 40-year-old suspect was killed after exchanging gunfire with officers. Before it was all over, the attacker even set the church on fire, sparking a five-alarm blaze that caused part of the building to collapse (ABC7 Chicago).

Now the FBI and ATF are stepping in to figure out why this happened and if the church was specifically targeted. The shooting comes just days after the death of LDS President Russell M. Nelson, which has some people questioning the timing (ABC7 Chicago).

It’s another heartbreaking reminder that even places meant for peace and prayer aren’t safe from gun violence.
