THE PROMONTORY IN CHICAGO’S HYDE PARK SET TO CLOSE AFTER 11 YEARS

A beloved cornerstone of Chicago’s Hyde Park community, The Promontory has announced it will officially close at the end of this year. The news came through an emotional Instagram post thanking friends, family, employees, and patrons for over a decade of memories.

Since opening its doors 11 years ago, The Promontory has become a cultural hub — known for its mix of live music, good food, and a warm atmosphere that brought people together from across the city. The venue’s stage has hosted countless artists, local and national, becoming a true gathering place for creativity and connection.

In their farewell message, the team invited supporters to come by for a final visit, share a drink, and celebrate the space one last time during their New Year’s Eve party.

“Thank you, Hyde Park and University of Chicago. Thank you, our loyal employees. And thank you, our cherished customers, for letting us serve you,” the post read.
