President Donald Trump recently claimed that the people of Chicago, including Black women, are asking for stronger action to stop crime in the city. He said that residents want federal involvement, with some even urging him to deploy the National Guard to address rising crime.
Trump specifically mentioned “beautiful Black women” as vocal supporters of this approach, in which some people referenced groups like Chicago Flips Red, led by Danielle Carter-Walters, which advocates for increased law enforcement presence.
Although this isn’t Trump’s first time saying this, it still causes a debate in Chicago in which many observers and city residents question the accuracy of his statement.
