A beloved Black-owned café and bar in Bronzeville is stepping up in a major way this holiday season. Kelli’s Chicago is hosting its First Annual Thanksgiving Grocery Giveaway on November 25th from 10AM to 12PM, offering free groceries to families right before the holiday rush — no purchase, sign-up, or proof required.
With the recent U.S. government shutdown disrupting SNAP distributions nationwide, many families have been left unsure how they’ll stock their kitchens this month. Kelli’s Chicago is filling that gap by bringing the community together and making sure no one goes into Thanksgiving empty-handed.
The giveaway will take place at:
📍 210 E. 35th Street, 2nd Floor, Chicago, IL 60616
Groceries will include holiday staples, fresh items, and other essentials — all available on a first-come, first-served basis. Community members are encouraged to pull up early.
Kelli’s Chicago is also accepting donations from anyone who wants to contribute to feeding local families this season.
To donate, call 872-244-8905.
This is more than a giveaway — it’s a reminder of how Chicago looks out for its own, especially during hard times. Kelli’s is turning its café into a hub of care, support, and holiday love.
