ROSES ARE DEAD PRESENTS: THE VILLAGE — MENTORSHIP & PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT FOR YOUNG MEN

This Sunday, The Village Mentorship Group is bringing young men together for mentorship, healing, and real-world exposure. From one-on-one guidance to a new professional development track for high school seniors, this is about building leaders who will pour back into their communities.

ABOUT THE VILLAGE MENTORSHIP GROUP

The Village Mentorship Group is dedicated to transforming the lives of young men through personalized mentorship. The program focuses on helping young men build confidence, emotional intelligence, and a clear vision for their future by fostering meaningful, one-on-one relationships.

Instead of a one-size-fits-all approach, The Village is committed to meeting each young man exactly where he is—mentally, emotionally, and socially—and walking with him as he navigates life’s challenges and opportunities.

“Our mission is to meet each young man where he is, and help him grow into a confident, emotionally intelligent leader who will one day mentor others.”

OPEN MENTORSHIP FOR BOYS AGES 12–19

During the mentorship sessions, the group explores topics like:

  • Physical, mental, and emotional health
  • Character building and decision-making
  • Life challenges, peer pressure, and accountability
  • Vision setting and planning for the future

Every conversation is rooted in love, structure, and accountability. The goal is to help each young man feel supported—and challenged—to grow.

NEW PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM FOR HIGH SCHOOL SENIORS

Alongside the general mentorship program, The Village is launching a separate, long-term professional development program that runs through August 2026.

The team is currently looking for six (6) high school seniors to enter this professional development track. This program is designed to give young men real-world exposure to careers and industry spaces that reflect their goals and interests.

Selected seniors will:

  • Meet Black industry leaders in the fields they’re most interested in
  • Visit workplaces and creative spaces aligned with their career dreams
  • Receive guidance on professionalism, networking, and career readiness
  • Get support navigating post-graduation options—college, trades, entrepreneurship, and more

This track is about more than just jobs—it’s about representation, access, and building a network that young men can lean on as they take their next steps in life.

THE MISSION & VISION: BUILDING A RIPPLE EFFECT OF MENTORSHIP

The Village Mentorship Group exists to do more than host meetings. The long-term vision is to create a ripple effect of mentorship throughout the community.

Mission: To meet each young man where he is and provide individualized guidance, resources, and exposure to opportunities that align with his unique aspirations—ultimately inspiring him to become a mentor himself.

Vision: A future where young men grow into confident, emotionally intelligent leaders who actively give back to their communities. As The Village grows, so does a network of men forming small groups and one-on-one connections that meet the specific needs of every child.

This is legacy work—one meaningful relationship at a time.
