CHICAGO NONPROFIT SURPRISES 500 STUDENTS WITH CHRISTMAS PRESENTS

Holiday magic swept through George Leland Elementary on Chicago’s West Side in Austin when 500 students were surprised with Christmas gifts, thanks to the generosity of the Daisie Foundation. What began as a normal school day quickly turned festive as students walked into a celebration filled with wrapped presents, decorations, and special guests — including Santa and Mrs. Claus.

The event is part of the foundation’s Holiday Magic Express, which brought joy to more than a thousand Chicago students this season. Kids received toys, books, winter essentials, and enjoyed treats that made the day feel extra special.

For many families, the surprise offered much-needed cheer during a busy time of year. And for the students, it was a reminder that their community is rooting for them — this holiday season and beyond.
