Authorities in Newburgh Heights, Ohio, are investigating a shocking incident involving three children ages 8, 11, and 12 who allegedly stole a vehicle and led police on a dangerous chase before crashing into a home. According to police, the children were spotted driving a stolen car and refused to stop when officers attempted a traffic stop.
Investigators say the 11-year-old was behind the wheel, with the other two children riding as passengers. The chase ended when the vehicle slammed into the side of a residential home, causing property damage. Thankfully, no serious injuries were reported, and no one inside the house was hurt.
After the crash, the children reportedly fled the scene on foot but were quickly taken into custody. According to Fox News, police say the kids admitted they learned how to steal and start vehicles by watching YouTube videos, using a USB cable to start the car. Officers also noted damage to the steering column, consistent with auto-theft methods observed in recent cases.
