Rapper Fetty Wap has been released from federal prison nearly three years early after originally being sentenced to six years for drug trafficking.
The “Trap Queen” artist, born Willie Junior Maxwell II, was sentenced in May 2023 for his role in a drug distribution conspiracy involving New York and New Jersey. After serving about three years, he was released under supervised conditions, reportedly transitioning to home confinement.
While the exact reason for the early release hasn’t been made public, sentence reductions often involve good behavior or earned time credits. Fetty Wap will continue serving federal supervision as part of his sentence.
