Former Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot has launched the ICE Accountability Project, a new initiative aimed at documenting alleged misconduct by ICE and federal immigration agents in Chicago.
According to Fox 32 Chicago, the project lets residents submit videos, photos, and reports of potential abuses, creating a public archive for journalists, researchers, and legal advocates. Lightfoot says the focus is on misconduct, not agents doing their jobs, highlighting issues like excessive force or unlawful detentions.
Launched amid heightened scrutiny of federal immigration tactics, the project gives Chicagoans a way to hold federal agents accountable and protect their rights.
