MAN SHOT AND KILLED ON CHICAGO’S WEST SIDE

Chicago police are investigating a fatal shooting that happened early this morning in West Garfield Park, just steps from Genevieve Melody Elementary School. Officers found a 38-year-old man shot multiple times in the 300 block of South Springfield Avenue. He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

According to CBS News, the shooting happened as families were starting their day, raising concern among parents and neighbors in the area. Authorities have not reported any injuries involving students or school staff, and no suspects are in custody at this time.

Police are asking anyone with information to come forward as the investigation continues.
