TWO PEOPLE SHOT OUTSIDE CHICAGO POLICE STATION ON WEST SIDE

Two people were shot Thursday evening in the parking lot of a Chicago Police Department station on the city’s West Side, according to CBS Chicago.

The shooting happened around 6:12 p.m. in the parking lot of the Austin District police station, located near West Madison Street and North Waller Avenue.

Police say a 19-year-old man and a 21-year-old woman were standing in the parking lot when an unknown offender opened fire, striking both victims. The suspect fled the scene before officers could make an arrest.

Both victims were transported to Mount Sinai Hospital, where they were listed in fair condition. No additional injuries were reported.

At this time, no arrests have been made, and police have not released a suspect description or a motive. Area detectives are continuing to investigate.

The incident remains under investigation, and more details are expected as information becomes available.
