A Toledo woman says she has sworn off food delivery apps for good after witnessing a disturbing moment involving her DoorDash driver.
According to 13 ABC, the customer, Ashley May said she caught the driver on video placing her hands down her pants and then immediately touching her food order. The incident reportedly happened in real time, prompting May to throw the food away and contact DoorDash right away.
The video, which has since circulated on social media, sparked outrage online, with many viewers calling the behavior unsanitary and unacceptable. While the driver later claimed the video “didn’t tell the whole story,” DoorDash says it took swift action.
In a statement, DoorDash confirmed the driver was immediately deactivated from the platform, citing its zero-tolerance policy for food safety violations. The company emphasized that actions involving food tampering or unsanitary handling are taken seriously and can result in permanent removal.
The driver told the news that the video does not tell the whole story.
The incident has reignited conversations about food safety, trust in delivery services, and the importance of sealed packaging. Many customers online said situations like this make them hesitant to continue using delivery apps.
As of now, no criminal charges have been announced, but the video continues to circulate, fueling debate and concern among consumers.
