A missing 2-year-old in Avondale, Arizona has been safely found — and it’s all thanks to a group of moving company workers who refused to ignore what they saw.
According to Fox News, the two-year-old girl Kehlani Rogers had been reported missing in the Avondale area, triggering concern from family members and local law enforcement.
The toddler was last seen with 23-year-old Marina Noriega. KSAZ reported that the toddler’s parents said Noriega was a transient they were allowing to spend the night at their home, when she allegedly vanished with their daughter.
As the search unfolded, a crew of movers working nearby noticed something that didn’t sit right.
Instead of brushing it off, the workers alerted police.
Their quick thinking led officers directly to the child’s location. The toddler was located safely and reunited with family, bringing relief to a tense situation that could have ended very differently. Noriega was taken into custody for a third-degree felony charge of custodial interference.
Police said Noriega was a recently-met acquaintance of Rogers’ family.
Stories like this highlight the importance of community awareness — and the power of speaking up when something feels wrong.
Authorities are continuing to investigate the incident.
