According to CBS, the crossing guard was helping children safely cross the street after school when a man, frustrated from waiting in traffic, got out of his vehicle and assaulted her. Authorities say the suspect punched the guard in the face, knocking her unconscious, before fleeing the scene.

The attack happened in broad daylight and in front of children, raising serious concerns about safety and road rage. Witnesses and surveillance footage show the driver abruptly stopping his car, stepping out, and targeting the guard who was simply doing her job protecting students.

The victim was transported to a hospital with facial injuries and is expected to recover. Meanwhile, police are actively searching for the suspect and urging anyone with information to come forward.
