Both the pilot and co-pilot were killed, while 41 passengers and two rescue personnel were hospitalized. Most have since been released, with several remaining in stable condition.

Preliminary reports indicate the plane was traveling around 93–105 mph when it struck the vehicle, which was on the runway responding to an emergency. Investigators are looking into potential miscommunication between air traffic control and ground crews.

LaGuardia was shut down for hours, causing widespread flight cancellations and diversions. Emergency crews worked through the night to clear the scene and assist the injured.

The NTSB, FAA, and Canadian authorities are investigating the crash. Officials are reviewing runway procedures, tower communications, and emergency protocols to determine how the collision occurred.

Airport officials and government leaders expressed condolences to the families of the deceased and thanked first responders for their efforts. Tributes have begun appearing online for the pilots and those injured.
