Finally, a real star is being recognized for her work.
Brandy to Receive Hollywood Walk of Fame Star; Issa Rae and Babyface to Deliver Remarks The singer and actress will be honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on March 30. The ceremony will be held on Hollywood Boulevard in Los Angeles to celebrate this significant achievement.
According to Billboard, actress and producer Issa Rae and legendary songwriter Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds are both expected to appear and deliver remarks during the event.
Babyface shares a long-standing connection with Brandy, having written “Sittin’ Up in My Room,” a standout record from the Waiting to Exhale soundtrack that helped launch her career in the mid-1990s.
This latest milestone adds to a growing list of recent honors for Brandy. Earlier this year, she was recognized at the Recording Academy Honors presented by the Black Music Collective, alongside names like Pharrell Williams and Kirk Franklin.
In a statement, Walk of Fame producer Ana Martinez praised Brandy’s lasting influence, noting that her voice and artistry have shaped modern R&B and inspired generations of performers. She emphasized that the recognition reflects both Brandy’s musical success and her broader cultural impact.
Brandy’s catalog includes some of the most iconic R&B hits of the late ’90s and early 2000s, including “The Boy Is Mine,” her chart-topping collaboration with Monica that spent 13 weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100.
The honor arrives during a busy period for the star. She is currently preparing to release her memoir, PHASES, which she says will provide clarity around her personal journey amid renewed public attention on her past.
Brandy is also set to hit the stage this summer at Essence Fest 2026 in New Orleans, where she’ll reunite with Monica for a performance. The festival, curated by Teyana Taylor, will feature an R&B-heavy lineup that also includes Kehlani and Patti LaBelle.
