MAN SHOT AFTER BEING RAN UP ON IN CHICAGO AS TEMPS RISE SPRING ALREADY TURNING VIOLENT

JUNE PROFIT

According to a Facebook post from June Profit, a disturbing video circulating on Saturday, March 21st shows a man in Chicago on 118th St who had reportedly just been shot in the head, lying on the ground and still breathing as family members and detectives surrounded him while waiting for emergency services. The situation appeared tense and emotional, with loved ones visibly shaken as authorities worked at the scene. At this point, key details remain unclear, including what led up to the shooting and whether the victim survived his injuries.

Incidents like this continue to underscore ongoing concerns about gun violence in the city, even as overall crime trends show signs of improvement. Recent data shows that Chicago has experienced a significant decline in homicides over the past year. In 2025, the city recorded 416 murders, nearly a 30 percent decrease from 2024 and the lowest total in decades. This downward trend has persisted into 2026, with early reports indicating fewer homicides compared to the same period last year, despite occasional spikes in violence from month to month.

So far in 2026, reports indicate that roughly 50 to 60 people have been killed, reflecting a continued decrease compared to previous years.  Experts note that while the homicide rate has fallen significantly from its peak in 2021, when violence surged nationwide, Chicago still faces challenges, particularly during warmer months when crime historically increases.

As this latest shooting unfolds, residents are once again reminded of the unpredictable nature of violence in the city. Authorities have not yet released additional information, and the condition of the victim remains unknown. Anyone with information is encouraged to cooperate with investigators as the situation develops.
