TWO MEN STABBED ON CTA RED LINE TRAIN ON CHICAGO’S SOUTH SIDE

Two people were stabbed during an early morning incident aboard a CTA Red Line train on Chicago’s South Side, leaving both victims hospitalized.

According to CBS Chicago, the attack happened around 1:25 a.m. Wednesday near the 47th Street area in the city’s Fuller Park neighborhood. Authorities say an argument broke out between passengers while the train was in motion. During the confrontation, a male suspect reportedly pulled out a sharp object and stabbed two men.

Both victims, identified as adult males, suffered stab wounds to the neck during the attack. Emergency crews transported the injured men to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where they were listed in fair condition.

Police said the suspect fled the scene following the stabbing. As of now, no arrests have been made, and detectives are continuing to investigate the circumstances that led to the violence.

The incident has raised continued concerns about safety on public transit, especially during overnight hours. Riders across the city have voiced worries about violent incidents occurring on trains and platforms, particularly along heavily traveled routes like the Red Line.

Anyone with information about the stabbing is encouraged to contact Chicago police as the investigation remains ongoing. Authorities have not yet released a description of the suspect.
