A Chicago woman is going viral after sharing a heartbreaking Facebook post detailing the final moments of her brother’s life. According to her post, he was being chased and shot at, and was able to call his mother before the call suddenly dropped.
She revealed that her brother wasn’t involved in the streets—no gang ties, no opps—just someone who stayed out the way, focused on his family, and lived his life. Still, his life was taken, leaving his loved ones to process an unimaginable loss.
In her message, she described the pain of her family searching for him, rushing to the hospital, and ultimately having to identify his body. Her words paint a raw picture of grief—one that goes beyond headlines and police reports.
Her post is a reminder of a reality that often gets overlooked: families become victims too. Even when they’re not connected to street conflicts, they’re left carrying the trauma, heartbreak, and emotional weight that comes with losing someone they love.

Lorddddd my brother had enough time to call my mama to tell her he’s was getting chased & somebody shooting at him
My mama said wyaaaaa, he said 127th I’m going to try to make it to the gardens he then screamed ma I can’t see , he said I love you ma and the call dropped
My mama heard her son being murdered she said he was hurting & screaming
We all drove around for over 30 minutes up & down 127th all through the gardens looking for my brother calling different hospitals
We get confirmation he’s at the hospital we get there they won’t tell us nothing , they finally say 4 people can go up it was me, my mama, nelly & brittt
The doctors come in & immediately break the news somebody seen him crash into a tree after being shot to death they tried everything they can & unfortunately he didn’t make it my mama immediately runs out the room & pass out
Now its me & nelly left to identify my baby brother just like we identifed my daddy
My baby looked so lifeless, so helpless
My baby was in fear my baby left me in pain me him & nelly were in sync we are one
I can feel what he endured in my body im so sick as the oldest I have no where to turn
& my poor kids I dont even know how to tell them this im so fuckingggggg SICKKK
